PROPER COOLING:BACK TO TOP RULE OF THUMB: The air flow needs to travel in one
direction through your computer case. * Starting at the front
of the case you want to suck air in ... blow the air over your
CPU (processor) and then out the back of the case. General advice
is to allow more air in the front and less out the back. Always
have the CPU fan blowing air OFF the processor, and out the
side of the computer case if you have a side fan installed.

the HKEY Current User > Talk4Free entries and Delete the
Talk4Free Key and all Subkeys.
6) Reboot and you should be all set.
** UPDATES ** - mostly from user posting in the comments
How to uninstall from Windows Vista:
"To uninstall from vista, simply go to the search bar and
look up "mjusbsp". Right click and open explorer. Delete whole
folder. Use CCleaner (free) to clean rest up. That easy. Vista
isn't perfect, but things like the search function rock."

you still might have to remove the LowerFilters registry
entry. To do this, go to "Step 3: Delete the LowerFilters

10.REMOVE
UNNECESSARY DEVICE DRIVERS XP :
Follow these steps to view and remove unnecessary device drivers:
Windows XP
1. Press [Windows]+[Break] to bring up the System Properties
dialog box.
2. Select the Advanced tab and click the Environment Variables
button.
3. Click the New button below the System Variables panel.
4. In the New System Variable dialog box, type devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices
in the Variable Name
text box and 1 in the Variable Value
text box.
5. Click OK to return to the System Properties dialog box
and then click OK again.
6. Select the Hardware tab and click the Device Manager button.
7. In Device Manager, go to View Show Hidden Devices.
8. Expand the various branches in the device tree and look
for the washed out icons, which indicate
unused device drivers.
9. To remove an unused device driver, right-click the icon
and select Uninstall.
11.INTERNET
GATEWAY DEVICE DISCOVERY :
In Windows XP under Start/Control Panel/Network Connections/
sometimes you see an Internet Gateway connection above your
Local Area Connections. This can cause confusion among some
clients, so I typically remove it with normal Home Users and
some Business Clients depending on how their network is set
up.
To remove this you can go to Add/Remove Programs /
... Add/Remove Windows Components
then Under Networking Services uncheck the
box next to "Internet Gateway Device Disconvery
and Control Client" and it will not show you
that icon any more. To a normal home user it is safe to remove
this as far as I can tell. This will only remove the icon
under Network Connections and there is less confusion among
your clients.
12. ENABLE AND DISABLE FIREWALL
VIA CMD ENABLE AND DISABLE WINDOWS FIREWALL
WITH COMMAND PROMPT C:\firewall>netsh firewall show config
C:\firewall>copy con disable.bat
ctrl Z
C:\firewall>disable.bat
Follow same directions to enable.bat, just replace disable
with Enable.
1.REMOVE
MISSING VXD FILES AT STARTUP: The actual problem is not that those files are missing,
but that your computer looks for them and can't find them.
This is what you've got to do to solve your problem:
- Go to START - RUN
- Type 'regedit'
- Open 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE'
- " 'System'
- " 'CurrentControlSet'
- " 'Services'
- " 'VxD'
- Delete the following keys: 'VNETSUP', 'VREDIR' and 'DFS'
2.SYSTEM
RESTORE - WINDOWS 98 At startup press and hold CTRL key to bring up the
advanced startup menu.
Select Safe Mode Command Prompt Only
Type scanreg /restore
Select a date to restore the registry to
1. Go to Search -> Command Prompt -> right click on
Command Prompt and choose Run As Administrator. 2. Type: reg
delete HKLM\Components /v AdvancedInstallersNeedResolving
and press ENTER.
3. Go back to Windows Update and it should install them just
fine.
YOU MAY ALSO NEED TO REMOVE THE FILES UNDER C:/Windows/SofwareDistribution.
This is where Windows Update downloads the updates.
The user profile had entered a backup state. This issue may
occur if the user profile was manually deleted by using the
command prompt or Windows Explorer by a user or by some program.
A profile that is manually deleted does not remove the security
identifier (SID) from the user profile list in the registry.
Since the SID is still present, Vista will still try to load
the profile by using the ProfileImagePath that points to a
nonexistent path. Therefore, the profile cannot be loaded.
This can also be a issue with the user profile entering into
a backup state, or by manually renamed the C:\Users\(User
Name) folder.
Logon as administrator or under the corrupted user account
in Safe Mode if you have to and examine the keys under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows
NT\Current
Version\ProfileList\ ... there find the key for the users
id SID.
NOTE: A) In the right pane, look at the ProfileImagePath
to verify that this is the user account profile that has the
error. B) You may have another S-1-5..... folder
(SID key) above it with the exact same number without the
.bak at the end of it.
It will most likely have a ".bak" appended to
it and there is an identical one that was set to a temp directory.
Backup the users data before doing this step.
I have done it successfully without loosing any data, but
don't really want to take that chance.
Remove the ".bak" from the one name. Now In the
right pane of the one without .bak now, right click on RefCount
and click on Modify. NOTE: If you do not have RefCount, then right
click on a empty space in the right pane and click New and
DWORD (32 bit) Value, then type RefCount and press Enter.
Enter 0 for the VALUE DATA. This value for this entry will
reset and return back to the original value after you have
restarted the computer and logged on to the account.
Finally change the State property key back to 0. Reboot
the comptuer and this allowed me to log in.
